Jon Guerdrum and Travis Webb have been re-elected to Overland Mountain Biking Association’s Board of Directors after running uncontested in this November’s BOD elections.

According to Overland by-laws, there is no need to hold an election if candidates run for position without opposition.

Jon Guerdrum is the current President of OMBA’s BOD, and has been a board member for 4 years.  Read on for Jon’s Board Re-election Statement.

“My love of mountain biking originated as a kid riding the rugged terrain of the Sandia Mountains in Albuquerque, NM, since then cycling has been an integral part of my life. I relocated to Fort Collins in 2011 and have become deeply rooted in our cycling community. You will most likely find me riding solo on my Transition Spur on my preferred terrain of technical climbs and descents such as Ginny and Upper Timber.

My journey with OMBA began in 2012, initially focused on trail building, particularly at Youngs Gulch. Over the years, I’ve lost count of the number of trail builds I’ve been a part of. In 2019, I joined the board of directors, taking on the role of Vice President in 2020, and assuming the position of President in 2021.  My re-application for this position is fueled by a passion for mountain bike advocacy, trail maintenance and improvement, and trail access / new trails. I am very devoted to my local trails, and hope to see them grow and thrive, and I know that the coming years are crucial to this goal.

During my tenure on the board, I’ve played a role in revising and updating bylaws, refining board roles and responsibilities to accommodate our organization’s growth. I’ve also been involved in strengthening our fundraising efforts, enhancing employee onboarding and contracts, and shaping our near and long-term strategic goals. My responsibilities extend to coordinating events, fostering relationships, and championing advocacy efforts. In the upcoming term, my primary aspirations revolve around the continued expansion of OMBA. I aim to see the hiring and onboarding of a full-time Trails Coordinator, the establishment of a seasonal trail crew, the development and approval of a local bike park, and the continued growth of new trails in our region.” – Jon Guerdrum

Travis Webb is heavily involved with OMBA budget planning, and has been a board member for 2 years.  Here is his re-election statement:

“The first three letters in Travis are also the first three letters in trails. Is it a coincidence? I think not.  I moved to Fort Collins in 2013 and like many of our community became addicted to our trail access in Northern Colorado.  My initial involvement in Overland started through joining [Diamond Peaks Mountain Bike] Patrol.  I have had people help me during injuries, and loved the idea of being in a position to help others to try and repay a bit of karma. Through patrol I also got involved in trail building. It has been great to be involved in trail builds in the US Forest Service, Larimer County, Lory State Park, Curt Gowdy State Park, and the City of Fort Collins. As far as I’m concerned there is nothing more rewarding than riding a section of trail that you built.

I also spent 2 years on the bike co-op board, and while I love that organization along with the other great bike organizations we have in Northern Colorado, my passion really lies in mountain biking.

In 2021 I joined the Board of directors for OMBA. While I have contributed to a wide variety of events over the past two years, one area of focus for me has been Budget planning.  I partner closely with our board treasurer because my professional area of expertise is with Budgets, and Budget planning. I have worked for 10 years in the Central Budget Office of both CSU and CU boulder. Overland has had a really great past couple of years but we have room to improve in some areas as well, and I’m excited to contribute to that as our organization grows. Overall I love our community, and am pumped to be part of an organization that is dedicated to more fun on mountain bikes in Northern Colorado.” – Travis Webb

Congratulations, Jon and Travis, on your re-election to the Overland Board of Directors!  We are all excited for the growth of the organization, and beyond stoked to have your creative, curious, and off-beat personalities taking OMBA to new heights.
