We’d like to thank SCHEELS-Johnstown for inviting us to their Employee Giving Campaign last week. We were 1 of 12 non-profit organizations present to speaks with employees about making one-time or automatically recurring donations each pay period. Executive Director, Kenny Bearden, and Membership & Outreach Coordinator, Samantha Boon, spoke to over 300 employees about the need for high-quality recreational trails in Northern Colorado and how individual and corporate donations impact those trails.
SCHEELS’ most recent gift of $5000 was a match for a Colorado Parks and Wildlife grant for the Lookout Mountain trail project.
Employees learned that it costs roughly $5 to build/maintain/restore ONE FOOT of trail tread. Since 2021 SCHEELS has gifted Overland $15,000, which was leveraged using cash match grants to $700,000, which in turn directly impacted about 26 miles of trail!
Thanks again to SCHEELS for their generosity towards a robust portfolio of meaningful non-profits, and supporting singletrack trails in Northern Colorado!
