May Showers bring Hero Dirt! But we all know our volunteer heroes are the ones who really make our trails awesome. This Saturday OMBA’s trail volunteers are partnering with Larimer County’s Trail Crew on Saturday May 20th to help construct the new multiuse, bidirectional singletrack connector trail from Nomad to Stout.
The work is rated Moderate – we will be removing shrubs, turf, and rock as we shape the new trail, and may be constructing several rock structures. All tools and leadership guidance provided. Your work will help get this trail open to public by July 1, so come out and join us! Click here to volunteer to help build the Nomad-Stout connector! A light breakfast and lunch will be provided.
The Sunday May 21st service ride at Soapstone Prairie Natural Area has been postponed. We’ll let you know when we have a reschedule date.
June 10th there is a National Trails Day volunteer project with Larimer County Natural Resources and Fort Collins Natural Areas. There will be a variety of work done on both sides of Rotary Park–removing fencing, adjusting trail grades, new trail construction. Lunch will be provided, volunteers will receive gifts, and a chance a prizes. For more information and sign ups click here.
Also keep an eye out for weekday work starting at Lory State Park in June and Dig Days are coming soon for the Roaring Creek area!
