Trail Work Volunteers Needed!
OMBA is hosting a weekend of trail work plus campout opportunity September 9-10. We are really looking forward to camping at the Arrowhead Lodge property! It’s about 5-10 minutes from the trailhead. OMBA will provide a light breakfast on Saturday morning, a burger & brat dinner Saturday night, and breakfast on Sunday morning.
We NEED you. There is work for everybody, you can volunteer for just one day or two, camp Friday and/or Saturday night, OMBA will feed you breakfast and dinner, AND you can experience the creek while it’s raging down the mountain, an AHHmazing view, and a lifetime of boasting “I helped build this.”
The work site are approximately a 1 mile hike from the trailhead, and is rated moderate to strenuous. Volunteers will be working in rough terrain, rerouting sections of existing trail, building drainage features, and rebuilding large switchback turns.
More information regarding camping set-up, food, and carpooling to Roaring Creek trailhead will be send to volunteers the week of the event.

Here is the preliminary weekend itinerary:
- Camp at Arrowhead Lodge property, responsible for own food
- Check-in at Arrowhead, light breakfast provided @ 8:45-9am
- Carpool to TH, meet OMBA tool trailer, begin 1 mile walk to work sites @9:30am
- Lunch break ~ 12pm, 30-45 minutes, Bring your own lunch, water, snacks
- Depart worksite @3pm, Arrive at Lodge @ 4pm
- Dinner provided–burgers, brats, sides, beers–there is a kitchen available at the lodge
- Check-in at Arrowhead, heavier breakfast (burritos maybe) @ 8:45-9am
- Carpool to TH, meet OMBA tool trailer, begin 1 mile walk to work sites @9:30am
- Lunch break ~ 12pm, 30-45 minutes, Bring your own lunch, water, snacks
- Depart worksite @2pm, arrive at Lodge @ 3pm
- Head home feeling exhausted but fulfilled, and maybe a little dirty
- Sleep really well Sunday night!
NOTES: Camping for tents, small trailers, and vans. Cabins are not operational. There are no showers, so bring your solar showers, baby wipes, or enjoy the scent of forest and dirt on your self. Bring your own lunch, snacks, and water. OMBA will bring a few water jugs, and it seems potable water is available at Arrowhead. Pack layers for the weather, bugspray, sunscreen.
