The 2023 Gowdy Grinder MTB race will be taking place on Saturday, September 30th at Curt Gowdy State Park.  This race is a fundraiser for the Cheyenne middle and high school MTB racing team, WyoX.  The organizers have asked the Patrol to help with sweeping and marshalling the course, which is right up our alley.  They are looking for Patrollers to help with two four-hour “Course Rover” and “Course Marshals” shifts.  Course Rovers will “be on bike and have a section of course to patrol” and Course Marshals will provide “on course traffic directions. Volunteers will need to hike or bike to marshal location.”

The shifts are from 8:00 am-Noon and 11:00 am to 3:00 pm. You can also sign up for other volunteer shifts, if you are so inclined, but Patrollers should look at the Course Rover or Course Marshal slots first, as these are the ideal slots for Patrollers.

These events are always a fun time, so we recommend signing up to volunteer or race. We will be at the event with a tent so volunteers will have a place to hang out during the event.  We will bring drinks and snacks and there will likely be some food at the event as well.
