Trail Location
From Fort Collins take Highway 287 north 11 miles to Highway 14. Turn left on CO 14 and travel 29.8 miles. Turn left into parking lot.
Trail Information
The trail follows a stream and old jeep trail (practically singletrack now) up the gulch for about 2 miles before leaving the stream and passing through some rock outcroppings and meadows. A stock watering tank may be seen to the left just above the meadow. The trail ends at Salt Cabin Road, a forest road that loops off Crown Point Road, providing a lolly-pop option for this ride. Those of us who have lived in the Appalachians find this ride a nice change from the usual Front Range fare: lots of trees, rollers, jumps, roots and the occasional log grind.
